BY the Industry, for the industry

award categories

  • Vehicle branding

From one-off, super-funky promotional wraps to a large-scale fleet project; vehicle wrapping and cut vinyl graphics are a major part of the sign, graphics and print industry. The winning submission will demonstrate innovation and creativity in design, but also practicality and quality of installation. The judges will be interested in the project objectives and challenges involved with delivery.

  • Wayfinding

Directional and instructional signage has to be impactful, smart and clear. The winning project in this category will be a wayfinding scheme that complements its environment perfectly whilst also being an obvious ‘signpost’ for those seeking information. The judges will want to see how the project responded to the client’s brief, what the obstacles were and how they were overcome.

  • Environmental

This award is for a sign or print project that has been designed and delivered to meet defined environmental parameters or fit in with a particularly sensitive ecological landscape. The entry must provide detailed information about the reasons for the ‘green’ brief, research undertaken, materials used and lessons learned.

  • Structural

The Structure Award recognises a sign project that has been designed and delivered to meet a challenging or exacting architectural or construction brief. Whether due to the materials being used or location of the structure, the winning company will have demonstrated superb sign-making and project management skills.

  • Leisure & retail

With our high streets struggling, the role of impactful and effective leisure and retail signage has never been more important. The judges will be looking for a project that has addressed the need for innovative and engaging signage to support brand success.

  • Decor

Interior design schemes are an opportunity for print and signage companies to really show their range. The winner of this category will be able to demonstrate their proficiency in a variety of disciplines as well as superb project management skills. The judges will be looking for a project that has transformed a space via an impactful and cohesive scheme.

  • Traditional

ISA-UK has been representing master sign-makers for more than 100 years and this award honours the traditional skills that underpin our industry. The winner of this award will be a project which has traditional sign-making skills, such as sign-writing, neon, fabrication or carpentry, at its heart.

  • vision in print

This award is for a print-focused project that incorporates advanced technology such as 3D printing or wide format printing to deliver a high-impact result. The winning project will demonstrate an innovative approach and clearly show how the client’s brief was met.

  • illuminated sign

This category is designed to highlight the very best in creative, illuminated signage. The winning project will be designed and manufactured to the highest standards, creating genuine impact.

  • multi-site

The winner of this category will be a company that has undertaken a multi-site project or brand roll-out. The judges will be looking to see how the entrant pre-empted or dealt with the specific challenges of a project of this type whilst still delivering to deadline and on budget. The project must have been delivered over at least four sites within a 12 month period.

  • Supplier of the Year - "nominated for by the industry"

This award recognises a trade supplier which provides continuously high levels of customer service to other organisations within the sign, graphics and print industries. We will be looking for nominations from within the industry detailing why you feel the company deserves this recognition. Three companies will be shortlisted and will then be asked to submit a 500 word statement demonstrating how they benchmark good service and ensure that standards are met and what impact customer service has on the success of the business in tangible terms; for example financial results, qualitative and quantitative feedback, examples of positive PR

  • Trade Manufacturer - "nominated for by the industry"

This award recognises a manufacturer that deals exclusively with trade customers. We will be looking for nominations from within the industry detailing why you feel the company deserves this recognition. Three companies will be shortlisted and will then be asked to submit a 500 word statement demonstrating how they design and manufacture bespoke, high quality and innovative signage solutions to meet challenging briefs.

  • installation award

Specialist installers are the backbone of the sign, graphics and print industry, but sloppy work reflects badly on the whole sector. The winner of this award will be a team or business that can demonstrate a genuine commitment to exceptional professional standards. The judges will be looking for an example of a technically challenging, complex or large-scale project to back-up the submission.
