Experience of a lifetime for this year’s Young Signmaker

The winner of the Antalis Young Signmaker title at this year’s British Sign Awards is in for an extra special prize –  he or she will jet off  to Orlando, Florida!

The prize includes two return flights to Orlando ( up to a maximum value of $1000), three nights hotel accommodation and a fee-pass to ISA Sign Expo (all provided by the International Sign Association).  He or she will also receive £250.00 spending money from ISA-UK.  The prize means that the winner can take a colleague, friend or relative with them to the USA.

The Young Signmaker Award, one of 15 which will be presented at the Gala Awards Ceremony in November, is open to anyone working or training in the sign industry in the UK aged up to 25.  Entrants must be nominated by their employer, supervisor or training provider.

“The Young Signmaker Award was introduced to highlight the role young people  and the importance of ongoing training in the industry,” said David Catanach, Director of ISA-UK.

“The prize is intended to give the winner an experience of a lifetime and we hope that it will encourage all employers and training providers to put their young stars forward for the award.”

The prize must be taken to coincide with ISA Sign Expo, which takes place at the Orange County Convention Centre from April 2 – 4, next year.   The hotel accommodation will cover the three days of the show, which attracts over 600 exhibitors and more than 20,000 visitors, but the winner will be free to extend the visit if they wish to.

“A visit to Sign Expo is a mandatory requirement for the winner and he or she will be welcomed by our partners at ISA,” said Catanach. “A visit to the show will be an amazing experience for anyone working in signs.  That apart, they are free to enjoy all the other attractions Orlando has to offer.”

The winners will be unveiled at the Awards Ceremony at the Athena Centre in Leicester on Thursday, November 14 which will be hosted by actor and comedian Shaun Williamson, probably best known for his role as the ill-fated Barrie Evans in Eastenders.
