Awards deadline extended

Lavastar Visual Communications, of Hook, Hampshire – winners of the 2017 Small Sign Business Award

The final deadline for entries to this year’s British Sign Awards has been moved back to Friday, September 21st.

“We’ve received quite a few requests for an extension to the deadline from businesses that have been under pressure because of holidays and work commitments,” said David Catanach, Director of the BSGA.

“So, to be fair, we’ve extended the deadline for everyone.”

The awards are open to all UK-based sign and associated businesses and entry is free.

“The awards are a celebration of the best of British sign making and we would like every sign business that has produced work they are proud of to enter,” added Mr Catanach.  “The deadline extension gives everyone an extra few days to get their entries in.”

A total of 13 sign maker awards will be presented at the awards ceremony to be held at the Athena Centre in Leicester on Thursday, November 8th.

“The awards cover every aspect of sign making, from the biggest architectural signs, through vehicle liveries to signs and ‘décor’ produced using large format printers.

“We also have a special Small Sign Business Award in recognition of the fact that by far the vast majority of British signmakers fall into this category.  Winning the award can provide a massive boost for a small business and provide the catalyst for future development.  We would encourage all small sign makers to enter before the deadline on September 21.”

The judging panel, made up of independent sign industry specialists, will meet for their deliberations early in October and their decisions will be revealed at the awards ceremony in November.

“The ceremony, which runs from 1.00pm to 6.00pm and includes a 3-course lunch, is a unique occasion in the sign industry calendar, bringing together sign businesses of all types and sizes together with a host of industry suppliers.  The focus is obviously on the awards, but it is also a tremendous networking event .”

Entry forms for the awards can be found online at www.britishsignawards.org  Tickets for the event can also be ordered from the website (£70.00 +VAT each or £600.00+VAT for a table of 10).
