Epson announces new range of large-format technical plotters

Epson today announced two new professional technical plotters: the SureColor SC-T3100x 24-inch and the SureColor SC-T5400M 36-inch. These models perfectly complement the current T-Series range – and mean that Epson now offers a full gamut of technical printers to meet the needs of professional services across a range of industry sectors.

The SureColor SC-T3100x builds on the success of its predecessor, the SC-T3100, and is an entry level desktop printer that delivers affordable, reliable performance for poster producers, small POS businesses and those working in education. The SC-T3100x uses a refillable ink solution (140ml refillable bottles) rather than cartridges, for convenience and low running costs. Other features include:

  • Touch screen
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Refillable ink solution
  • Unique Nozzle Verification Technology (NVT) helps prevent misprints
  • Robust design with smallest footprint in the Epson technical printer range
  • Low TCO
  • Thoughtfully designed to fit seamlessly into most environments

The SureColor SC-T5400M is a multi-functional, large format technical printer with a truly integrated scanner/copier (with a simple top-loading operation). It’s been developed for those working in construction and reprographics who value detail, precision and flexibility. Thanks to the scanner, old maps and blueprints that are usually stored as hard copies can be converted to electronic files and reprinted. Blueprints can also be revised, manually annotated, scanned, and distributed, repeatedly. Other features include:

  • Understated ergonomic design
  • Print speed: 22sec / A1 image
  • Fastest scanning throughput: colour 4.5ips / mono7.5ips
  • Longest scanning in its category (30.5m)
  • Touch panel interface based on large 4.3-inch colour LCD
  • Direct scan and print from USB
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Large capacity roll (170mm diameter / 150m length)
  • Large capacity cartridge (350ml)
  • Borderless printing

Phil McMullin, sales manager, professional graphics, Epson UK, commented: “We’ve created technical printers to make businesses more productive. Whether it’s scanning detailed CAD drawings, or printing POS and posters, these printers are built to impress.” He adds, “It’s our job to make professionals more efficient and creative. Both the SC-T3100x and SC-T5400M technical printers allow us to build on Epson’s rich heritage and deliver class-leading print performance. They fit seamlessly into most environments and allow users to print wirelessly from tablets and smartphones.”

The SureColor SC-T3100x will be available in November 2019, and SC-T5400M will be available in September 2019.
