Message from the ESF President

18th March 2013

Dear ESF Colleague,

On behalf of the Executive committee, I want to give you a briefing on the progress, and so far the results of the organisation of the European Sign EXPO, and at the same time thank you for your support, and contribution to the future success of this event.

Briefly, I can tell you that the planning and operational schemes have been completed since January, and the exhibition plans have been issued. More than half of the allocated space has been all ready sold or reserved by various sign suppliers and sign companies, thus giving us a lot of enthusiasm to go ahead with the completion of this challenging task.

However, we should not start throwing hats and celebrating to early as we have a long way to go until June, and there is still much work to do. At this stage we need your assistance, since now is the time that we have to prove the commitment of all ESF members to this venture. We need to further encourage all of our members to promote the European Sign Expo to their suppliers, and if interested, participate as exhibitors in the Sign Expo. It is a great opportunity for every company that wishes to promote themselves and their products, since the event will attract potential customers from all levels and “sides” of the industry & market. Should anyone need further information or assistance please contact either the FESPA sales team or any member of the Executive committee, and we will do our best to advise and assist.

As you all know, during the days of the Sign Expo, ESF as planned, will host the 2nd Sign Conference with topics in the broadest extent – Future Sign Design. The topics will include design aspects, environmental issues, and of course, illumination considerations. Again, we need all ESF members to support the Conference, by strongly promoting it to their members. Note that this time, participation is free of charge, since ESF together with FESPA, will be covering the Conference expenses. Further information on speakers, timetables, and exact topics will follow shortly.

Concluding, I will thank you for one more time, for your assistance. ESF is entering into a new era, adding real value to the existence of the organisation and “paying back” all the previous year’s work and effort of its members. We are all part of this, and it is time that we all benefit from the organisation. However, this is the time that we will need to prove our commitment to the scope, and work harder.

With my kindest regards,

Roger Perrson
