Connecting, Collaborating, and Championing: Reflections from the Spandex Summit – Surrey

A huge thank you to Spandex UK for inviting the British Sign and Graphics Association (BSGA) to the Spandex Summit 2026 at Mercedes-Benz World (Surrey) on 17th and 18th March!

The two day event brought together a diverse cross section of the industry, providing a platform for manufacturers, installers, designers, and suppliers to share knowledge, explore the latest developments, and connect with colleagues across the UK signage and graphics sector.

Engaging in person remains one of the most valuable aspects of such events. The Summit offered attendees the chance to broaden their networks, meet new colleagues, and exchange practical insights with professionals they might not otherwise encounter. By welcoming all industry stakeholders, the event encouraged collaboration, strengthened relationships, and highlighted the value of shared learning across our sector.

Choosing Surrey as the venue made the Summit more accessible to professionals and organisations across the South of England, minimising disruption to their working schedules and ensuring it was an opportunity for a wide range of voices to participate. Over the two days, attendees explored live demonstrations, technical discussions, and product showcases that highlighted the latest technologies and industry best practices. Experiencing these sessions on site provided hands on exposure into products, techniques, and solutions in a way that virtual formats cannot replicate.

The Summit also gave me the opportunity to work alongside members and stakeholders, exchanging insight and guidance where it mattered most. Answering questions, discussing challenges, and exploring solutions in real time allowed me to connect directly with attendees and demonstrate the BSGA’s commitment to supporting the community. Being present throughout the event ensured the Association continued to be part of the conversations shaping our industry.

For me, events like the Spandex Summit – Surrey are a timely reminder of the importance of community. The most rewarding moments come when discussions translate into practical outcomes. Openly sharing knowledge and experience benefits everyone – best practice is strengthened, fresh ideas emerge, and together we build a stronger, more connected sector.

I always encourage BSGA members and industry colleagues to take part in face to face events, contribute to discussions, and share their insight wherever possible. It is through this active participation that we can continue to raise standards, promote best practice, and reinforce a professional, united community.

Membership is not just simply about being part of a network – it is about influence, connection, and making a tangible impact.

Together, we can champion our industry and strengthen the voice of the UK signage community.
