BSGA on the Road

In recent months, BSGA members and directors have had the chance to attend three industry events: The Print Show, Wrapfest and the UK Graphic Awards. Craig takes time to reflect on the BSGA’s involvement in these and their impact on the industry. He also looks at more events to come.

The Print Show

Jack and I were invited to host a stand at The Print Show, primarily created to launch next year’s Sign Show. It was a good event, with a full hall of exhibitors and a steady flow of visitors. I had lots of good conversations with members, commercial partners, and many people enquiring about association membership.

Jack spent a lot of time on the hall floor interviewing exhibitors, and you can find his review of the show here.

The show organisers have invited Jack, Sam Armstrong, and me to be ambassadors of the first Sign Show, which will co-locate at the Print Show next September. I believe the more events focused on our industry, the better this is for our overall strength and resilience.

Wrapfest

This was another colourful and well-attended event at an iconic location in Silverstone. The wrapping market is going from strength to strength, not just in vehicles but also in interiors. One of our longest-standing commercial partners, William Smith, is a major player in this sector, with an impressive array of products and extensive training capabilities. You can read more about them in this newsletter issue.

The UK Graphic Awards

Sadly, I couldn’t make it to the awards this year, but we were well-represented. I am delighted that many of our members were recognised at the event. Sussex Sign Company picked up a Gold Award in the roll-out category, Astra Group won silver in the Leisure and Hospitality category and Sauce won bronze in the Branded Interiors category.

Signs Express also picked up several awards on the night. Southampton won Branded Interiors for their Crawley Hospital Child Development Centre. Signs Express Twickenham picked up Silver in the Roll-out category and Central Lancashire’s Kyle White was Highly Recommended in the Rising Star category.
