Launched in May 2013, I-Sign is an off-the-shelf frame system that features a patented spring opening mechanism. The slide-to-open functionality of these ready-made frames defines them as I-Sign FLEX with I-Sign FIX and I-Sign DISPLAY now providing bespoke options to easily build coordinated schemes.
I-Sign FIX is an elegant framing profile that’s ideal for internal or external use and projecting or hanging signs. The simple frame system accommodates a variety of 2mm and 3mm thick materials such as engraved sheets, panels with Braille, wood, acrylic and aluminium composite panels. Better suited to smaller or narrow frame sizes, the silver anodised aluminium profile matches the I-Sign FLEX frame.
I-Sign DISPLAY is a stylish and sturdy profile that can be used for the creation of single or double-sided large format frames and stencil-cut light-boxes. The frames accommodate 5mm thick printed panels and with a slim frame profile, I-Sign DISPLAY is perfect for edge-to-edge framing features. Illumination can be added by fitting Applelec’s LED Light Sheet or LED modules such as SloanLED Posterbox LEDs into the frame.
Ian Drinkwater, Applelec managing director, explains: ‘Customers had told us it was difficult to find stylish frames without visible fixings so we had real confidence in I-Sign when it was launched in May. Almost immediately we began to be asked about bespoke options for the frames. Due to a highly successful launch, we have now extended the range with profiles that create bespoke matching frames for internal and external applications.’
2.5m I-Sign FIX and 5m I-Sign DISPLAY profiles are available from Applelec along with a small selection of pre-constructed frames. The frames are easy to mount using mechanical fixings or for smaller sizes, double-sided VHB tape. A panel clip secures printed materials into the I-Sign FIX frame whilst a vacuum cup removes them.
Launched earlier this year, I-Sign is a new display frame that provides a stylish alternative to the snap-frame whilst delivering easy access to graphics and a tamper-proof lock. I-Sign FLEX is available in set sizes including A-series frames from A6-A1, door and desk frames, and projecting and hanging signs. Presented at Sign UK and FESPA London in 2013, I-Sign FLEX is now in high demand for the creation of wayfinding and branding systems and decorative features.
