Spandex Debut at Lableexpo

Visitors to stand 9H38 will see the Gerber Edge digital printing system, part of Spandex’s portfolio of printers for prototyping onto a wide variety of media including polyesters, PVC, polycarbonate and papers.

The Gerber Edge is an advanced, versatile digital printing solution. Designed for graphic professionals, it is suitable for printers seeking to quickly produce durable, customised, highly profitable, short run graphics such as safety labels, barcode printing and digital prints.

A truly ‘green’ printer, the compact Gerber Edge is free of harmful VOCs. It guarantees superior accuracy, reducing downtime and increasing productivity with ultra long unattended runs.

“Since the launch of the Gerber Edge, Spandex has been successful in selling Print to Cut technology into the label and screen markets for sample and short-run jobs. As a result of this, the decision to exhibit at Labelexpo was a natural one,” explains Leon Watson, Director of Sales & Marketing – Hardware at Spandex. “With the advent of new technology and media development, Spandex now has a range of low-cost thermal, inkjet and UV solutions. In an increasingly competitive market, our products will help label producers increase their profit margins.”

Visitors to the Spandex stand at Labelexpo will be introduced to the company’s narrow-format product portfolio, including the Gerber Edge, by Spandex’s expert team. Readily available to answer questions and provide advice, they will also give practical, hands-on demonstrations of the products.

In addition to the Gerber Edge, Spandex will showcase the Mimaki UJF 3042, a tabletop UV printer that prints directly to substrates up to 50mm thick, and the Mimaki CJV30-60 (610mm) print and cut solution. As part of the company’s substrate series, an extensive range of speciality materials such as static films, abrasive resistant overlaminates, holographic films and more will also be displayed.
