Strengthening Connections, Raising Standards and Representing Our Industry: By Linda Edwards, Managing Director, The BSGA
As champions of the UK signage industry, the British Sign and Graphics Association (BSGA) remains committed to advocating for our members while fostering a collaborative, thriving community that drives industry best practice and growth. Our 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held virtually via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 30th June 2026, provided an important opportunity for reflection, collaboration and strategic direction.
I would like to personally thank all those who were able to attend and contribute to this important event in our annual calendar. Your participation helps ensure that the BSGA continues to represent the diverse voice of our industry, from small and medium sized organisations to major suppliers, manufacturers and all industry stakeholders.
We also welcomed two new members to Council, Lawrence Green of Greens the Signmakers and Keith Phillips of PIVOT365, who were both elected at the AGM. I am delighted to welcome them and look forward to the experience, knowledge and fresh perspectives they will bring as we continue to develop the Association.
We also recognised the contribution of David Derbyshire, who stepped down from Council this year after many years of valued service. I would like to thank David for the expertise, commitment and support he has given to the BSGA and I am pleased that he will remain connected with the Association.
Over the past 12 months, collaboration has remained at the heart of our work. We have continued to strengthen relationships across the wider industry through initiatives such as the Super Sector Initiative, working alongside other trade associations to address shared challenges around competence, skills and compliance.
Our partnership with the National Association of Shop Fitters has delivered a practical benefit for members through the introduction of a CSCS card route for sign installers, while our support of Women in Signs and Graphics reflects our commitment to building a more connected and inclusive industry community.
We have also remained focused on delivering value for our members. The introduction of a new membership category for contractors and sole traders has helped extend our reach across the sector, while improvements to our processes and systems ensure we continue to operate effectively and responsibly.
I would like to thank our Council members and volunteers for the time, expertise and commitment they continue to give to the Association. The BSGA’s ability to influence, support and represent our industry is built on the contribution of those who give their time to help shape our future.
Championing standards and professional practice remains central to our role. Our ongoing work around British Standard 559 Part 2, skills development and apprenticeship pathways demonstrate our commitment to supporting a competent, professional, skilled and recognised signage industry.
In keeping with our values of Community, Communication, Collaboration, Compliance and Championing the industry, we continue to align our activities around meaningful support for members and measurable impact for the sector.
I am pleased to share the official AGM Minutes and Presentation Slides, which provide a summary of the discussions and decisions made. These are available on our website at www.uksigns.org. Alternatively, the recording of the meeting is available via our YouTube channel.
As we look ahead, the BSGA is positioned for continued progress, with a strong foundation, an engaged Council and a member base that is passionate about shaping the future of our profession.
We encourage all members to remain involved through upcoming events, working groups and direct dialogue with our team.
