ISA-UK 2023 – A Year In Review

Dear Members of the International Sign Association UK,

As we approach the end of another year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our collective achievements and share our gratitude for your continued support and contribution to our association.

Firstly, we would like to express our appreciation to each of you for your unwavering commitment to the sign industry. Your Support of the association plays a significant role in helping us shape our thriving community, and it is because of your support that we can overcome numerous challenges and achieve important things together for our industry.

The events of recent years showed how resilient and resourceful our trade is. From making screens to floor graphics and various other items our trade played a vital part in helping to keep buildings and businesses open, which is not something many other industries can say.

The association has supported various events this year, starting off hosting the explains lounge at Sign and Digital, The Uk Sign Awards and numerous other smaller events culminating with our Joint event with FESPA and I’d personally like to put my thanks on record to Suzi and her team at FESPA UK Association for on such a great event we hope to continue collaborating into 2024 and it will be great to see many of you as possible at these events.

New and improving technologies continue to advance what we can offer our clients and with these advances the training and development of our people is essential if we want to advance our craft and make it an attractive trade to join. ISA UK plays a vital role in developing and maintaining the apprenticeship standard and working closely with providers and other stakeholders gives us the ability to make sure that what is offered continues to be relevant and engaging. As an industry, to be sustainable it is as important as ever that we continue to attract younger people into the industry and provide the support and training needed to develop the skills of our trade and help our businesses thrive.

As always, we exist to promote the value and importance of effective safe signage. With the introduction of the new BS559 standard and our own best practice guide we continue to champion for the highest standards and have actively advocated with various external stakeholders to better represent the needs of our trade. We have also forged stronger links with other associations so we can look to improve the information and support that we offer to you, our members.

In addition to all this Sue and Craig have continued to provide valuable resources and support for our members. And I would like to place my thanks on record to them for all their hard work in support of you, the members, and my fellow board members. With their help, we organized informative workshops with suppliers such as Spandex and Artsystems, and we look to enhance this next year with more of these.

As we start a new year, filled with fresh opportunities and unforeseen challenges, the International Sign Association UK remains dedicated to being your trusted partner and advocate. We are fully committed to your success, and we will continue to work tirelessly to create a thriving environment for the sign industry in the United Kingdom.

Lastly, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our members who have actively engaged with our association, attended our events, shared their expertise, and supported one another. It is your collaboration, knowledge sharing, and unity that make our community stronger and more resilient so please do reach out to us as its only by working together that we can develop the Association for the benefit of you the members and our external stakeholders.

On behalf of the International Sign Association UK, I wish you a joyful holiday season. May the coming year be filled with new opportunities, growth, and continued success for us all.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support and dedication.

David Allen
